I don't usually make New Year's Resolutions...but

1. Blog more.
2. Get a blog face lift.
3. Comment on others blogs, going beyond surface comments, but digging deeper into their thinking and mine.

So I am finally getting to what I said I wanted to do this year. So stay patient as we go through some reconstruction. I am teetering on a fine line between keeping this professional and also writing about my life. So bare with me while I figure our where the line will be placed. Thanks!


But while I am at it, I added some personal ones too.
4. Read more (both leisure and learning)
5. Attend church more regularly
6. More "turn off" time to be in the moment with my family and myself.

My co-teacher and I found our students weren't writing quality pieces of writing during Work on Writing. So I did some research and looked at the Iowa Core to see where we could add more meaningful writing. We also wanted our students to respond to their reading by using metacognition. Here is what we came up with.
